Dr Christine Loo has been a practising consultant histopathologist for more than 20 years.  She has previously worked in Liverpool Hospital in NSW and Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital in Brisbane and is currently employed as a senior staff specialist in Prince of Wales Hospital in Randwick, NSW, in addition to being a consultant histopathologist at Southern.IML Pathology. 

Dr Loo, is a member of several professional groups including the Australian Society of Cytology, International Academy of Pathology, American Society of Cytopathology, Australian and New Zealand Paediatric Pathology Group and the Society for Paediatric Pathology.  She is also a Fellow of the International Academy of Cytology, Technical Assessor for NATA and reviewer for Pathology, the Official journal of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia.

She is an affiliate scientist in the QIMR - Berghofer Medical Research Institue where she is working on a project investigating the mechanisms of human development and malformations.  Other areas of research include ovarian cancers and ectopic pregnancy. 

Dr Loo's areas of special interest include; cytology, perinatal and obstetric pathology, paediatric pathology and gynaecological pathology, and she joined the Anatomical Pathology Department at Southern.IML in 2012.
